Council on the Ageing SA

Description

The Council on the Ageing (COTA) is the peak organisation for older South Australians. COTA mission is to enhance the quality of life, to protect and promote the well-being and to advance to its full potential, the citizenship of seniors. Membership of COTA is open to people over 50 years of age. COTA has both individual and organisational members jointly providing a membership base of around 85,000 older South Australians. COTA SA can provide information, advice and a voice to Government on issues of concern. COTA promotes a positive community understanding of ageing, taking into account, the diversity of older people, the wide range of their interests, skills, knowledge and capacity to contribute to the community. We oppose the stereotyping of older people and support the development of policies and programs that reflect the diversity, individuality and capacities as well as the needs of older people.
