Who to contact when you have an Oilcode dispute?

If you are involved in an Oilcode dispute, you should first determine whether the business you are dealing with has any internal mechanisms (eg. a complaints handling policy) in place to resolve such matters.

Your second port of call should be the Dispute Resolution Adviser. Additional sources of assistance may include legal and business advisers, accountants or industry associations.

You should also call our small business helpline 1300 302 021 if you have information in relation to a breach of the Oilcode and/or the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (the Act). We will consider enforcement action when we believe that:

  • there has been a breach of the Act and the Oilcode
  • there is a public interest in doing so.

However, if we believe that your dispute is of a private contractual nature, we may recommend that you try mediation or seek independent legal advice.

For further information on the dispute resolution scheme, see the Dispute Resolution Adviser website or related topics below.
