Discount voucher schemes

Discount voucher schemes, including shopper dockets, may give you the opportunity to purchase goods and services from participating businesses at a discounted cost or with some other benefit.

Discount voucher schemes include:

  • shopper dockets
  • gift vouchers/certificates
  • book of vouchers.

Before you purchase or use a discount voucher, you should carefully read the terms and conditions of the offer. Businesses are entitled to attach terms and conditions to vouchers provided that this information is fully disclosed to you.

The terms and conditions imposed may include:

  • the provision of goods and services only at a specified businesses
  • limitation on usage (for example, days, times, and expiry dates)
  • discounts provided in conjunction with the purchase of another product or service.
