On 4 June 2008, the ACCC released a final report to continue the declaration of ISDN and DDAS in regional areas for a 12 month period. The ACCC has also released final pricing principles in relation to the declared services. The new declarations commence on 1 July 2008 and expire on 30 June 2009. The ACCC held a public inquiry under subsection 152AL of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (the Act) to review the declaration for the digital data access service (DDAS) and the integrated services digital network (ISDN). The purpose of the review was to determine whether the DDAS and ISDN declarations in regional areas should be re-made, extended, revoked, varied or allowed to expire.
Public consultation
On 16 November 2007 the ACCC released a discussion paper on the DDAS and ISDN declaration inquiry. As indicated in the discussion paper, the Commission requested written submissions by 5pm, Friday 21 December 2007. The discussion paper and related submissions are available below.
