Know your rights—seminar for consumers (19 November 2007)

The ACCC in Western Australia, in conjunction with ASIC and DOCEP and The West Australian newspaper, is holding a "Know your rights" seminar for consumers on Monday November 19 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Perth.

The seminar, held from 4.00pm to 6.30pm and hosted by Alan Kohler, will look at providing consumers with information about their rights and will focus on some practical "Tips and safety checks" to help consumers make smarter buying decisions.

The seminar speakers will look at:

• consumer rights
• avoiding scams and rip-offs
• refund and warranty rights
• credit and wealth creation schemes
• mobile phone and internet traps.
