Summary
The Football Federation Victoria Inc (FFV) proposes to require clubs which participate in FFV competitions to use only Licensed Balls and Licensed Apparel during FFV Competitions. In the event that Licensed Balls or Apparel are not used in FFV matches, clubs may be expelled, disqualified, suspended, fined, face reprimands, be deducted championship points or face another penalty or remedy deemed appropriate by the FFV.
On 4 July 2007, the ACCC released a draft notice proposing to revoke notification N92852.
Following the draft notice, the FFV proposed amendments to the licensing program. In particular, under the changes to the licensing program:
- There will be eight licensees, if practical, at any one time.
- Clubs will be able to buy directly from manufacturers of apparel.
- Clubs will not be required to replace uniforms if a licensee's license is not renewed.
The ACCC has assessed the notification having regard to these changes. For the reasons set out in its assessment document which is available from 'ACCC decisions', the ACCC has decided not to take any further action in relation to this notification at this time.
