Broadband internet speed claims and the Trade Practices Act—Information paper

In January 2007, the ACCC released an information paper discussing broadband internet speed claims, specifically related to ADSL2+.

Addendum

Paragraph 16 of the Information Paper states “Figure 1 below shows the ACIF benchmarks for ADSL and ADSL2+ technology. The ACIF benchmarks represents  the expected worst-case scenario.”

Actual performance on an ADSL or ADSL2+ service may fall below the ACIF benchmarks as a number of factors influence speeds, such as external interference. The ACIF benchmark is not a guarantee of minimum performance.
