2002 ARTC Rail access undertaking—Interstate rail network

In February 2001, ARTC submitted a proposed undertaking to the ACCC for assessment pursuant to Part IIIA of the Trade Practices Act 1974, known as the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 from 1 January 2011. On 1 May 2002, the ACCC accepted the (revised) undertaking. The undertaking covers terms and conditions of access to the standard gauge rail tracks owned or leased by ARTC and linking Kalgoorlie (WA), Tarcoola (SA), Broken Hill (NSW), Melbourne (Vic) and Wodonga (Vic). The undertaking is effective until 1 June 2007. A minor amendment to the undertaking was accepted in 2003.
