The ACCC examined this sale on the basis of newspaper reports that certain parties were potential acquirers of the Border Mail. Ultimately, John Fairfax Holdings Limited acquired the newspaper. Fairfax does not publish any newspapers in the Albury region. Consequently, no competition issues arise.
