Summary
The ACCC is pro competition and believes that competition within the market is the best means of achieving the greatest welfare for all Australians. However, it has been recognised that intervention in some markets is required before market disciplines can be relied upon to achieve the efficient use of resources. Here regulation can play a valuable role.
