Current inquiries

This page lists current declaration, exemption or variation inquiries currently being conducted by the ACCC.

Declaration inquiries

The ACCC's strategic review commenced in December 2005 as an inquiry to examine the future regulation of certain fixed network services. In April 2007, the ACCC began a second stage of the review with the release of a position paper outlining a framework for the review of existing fixed services regulation and the principles that will guide future regulatory decisions. The ACCC's review of the LSS declaration also forms part of the review.

On 25 November 2008, the ACCC initiated a public inquiry to review the domestic transmission capacity service declaration.

Exemption inquiries

On 18 December 2008 the ACCC initiated a public inquiry to review the mobile terminating access service declaration.

Variation inquiries

The ACCC has decided to combine the ULLS variation inquiry and the public declaration inquiry relating to the declarations for six fixed-line telecommunications services expiring 31 July 2009, pursuant to section 152AN
