On 16 December 2011, the ACCC commenced an inquiry into declaration of wholesale ADSL services under section 152AL of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). More information is available on the wholesale ADSL service declaration page.
On 20 October 2010, the ACCC wrote to interested parties explaining its view that there may now be a case for commencing an inquiry into declaration of a wholesale ADSL service.
In April 2011, following further discussions with industry participants, the ACCC decided to adopt a 'wait and see' approach rather than commencing a declaration inquiry.
