National competition policy issues

On 23 April 2004 the Treasurer announced the Inquiry into National Competition Policy Arrangements by the Productivity Commission. The Productivity Commission will inquire into the impact of competition policy reforms undertaken by Australian governments to date, and to identify areas for further significant gain through continuing reform. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is contributing to this inquiry by lodging a submission outlining its views and recommendations for reform on key aspects of National Competition Policy where it has relevant responsibilities.
