The ACCC in 2004: Advancing Australia Fair and Competitive!
26th February 2004
Conference
Law Institute of Victoria's Presidents Luncheon
Summary
There are three major topics I'll be discussing today. First, I'll talk about the work of the ACCC. Second, I want to focus on one particular area of concern - consumer refunds when the Act is shown to have been breached and consumers have suffered loss and ask the question as to whether the situation we have at the moment leads to entirely reasonable outcomes for Australian consumers. And finally, I'll be talking about Australia as a competitive nation.
