Container stevedoring
Under Part VIIA of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, the ACCC monitors prices, costs and profits of container stevedoring operators located in the ports of Adelaide, Brisbane, Burnie, Fremantle, Melbourne and Sydney. The ACCC releases the monitoring reports annually.

Harbour towage
The ACCC used to assess price notifications from Adsteam Marine Ltd, a harbour towage operator previously declared under Part VIIA of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (known as the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 from 1 January 2011).

International liner cargo shipping
The ACCC's role in relation to international liner cargo shipping is contained in Part X of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010.

Part VIIA of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010
Part VIIA of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 ('the Act') sets out the ACCC’s functions in relation to price inquiries, price notifications and price monitoring. The ACCC currently has one main role under Part VIIA of the Act in relation to waterfront & shipping.

Part X of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010
Part X of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 relates specifically to international liner cargo shipping. It deals with limited exemptions from certain provisions in Part IV of the CCA for international liner cargo shipping conferences.
