ACCC discontinues proceedings against SA fire protection companies

In October 2002 the ACCC instituted proceedings in the Federal Court, Adelaide, against a number of participants in the South Australian fire protection industry, alleging that they made, or attempted to make, illegal anti-competitive and price fixing agreements.  The ACCC has now discontinued those proceedings by consent of the court and today advised the parties accordingly. The court made no order as to costs.
