In December 2000 the Australian Government referred the subject of price regulation of airport services to the Productivity Commission for inquiry and report. The Productivity Commission's report was released in May 2002. The ACCC submitted comments on the issue in May 2001.
In November 2002 the Department of Transport and Regional Services announced a review of the Airports Act 1996, and called for submissions by 28 February 2003. The ACCC provided a submission to the review.
