Thomson Legal & Regulatory Group Asia Pacific Limited ("Thomson") displayed the price of books on its website www.atp-online.com.au on a GST exclusive basis.
Thomson has also placed advertisements in the National Accountant and other publications on a GST exclusive basis. The Commission was concerned that the website and the advertisements may have misled customers about the total price of the products and may constitute false or misleading representations in relation to the price of the products, in contravention of sections 52 and 53(e).
Thomson agreed to provide the Commission with a section 87B Undertaking stating that it will:
advertise, display and quote GST inclusive prices;
place corrective notices on the website and in the journals in which it has advertised GST exclusive prices, and send corrective letters to all account customers; and
