In early March 2001 the government asked the ACCC to examine the feasibility of placing limitations on petrol and diesel retail price fluctuations throughout Australia.
As part of the consultation process, the ACCC released a discussion paper, Reducing fuel price variability, on 14 June 2001 and invited submissions on the issues raised.
