Reducing fuel price variability report: December 2001

In early March 2001 the government asked the ACCC to examine the feasibility of placing limitations on petrol and diesel retail price fluctuations throughout Australia.

The government's response to the report (on the Treasury website) was announced on 14 May 2002.

As part of the consultation process, the ACCC released a discussion paper on 14 June 2001 and invited submissions on the issues raised.
