Debit and credit card schemes in Australia: a study of interchange fees and access

Date published: 30th June 2000

This study concentrates on two aspects of the networks for ATMs, credit cards and debit cards–namely, interchange fees and the conditions of entry into the industry. It also looks at the economic efficiency of these networks—are they delivering the best possible service at the lowest cost to end-users?
