Protecting consumers worldwide

Date published: 28th February 2003

Brochure from the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network/Réseau international de contrôle et de protection des consommateurs. Consumer protection law enforcement agencies respect traditional legal boundaries—but those engaged in cross-border fraudulent or deceptive commercial conduct affecting consumers don't. Therefore a high level of cooperation is crucial to effectively combat this conduct. In 2002–03 the ACCC has the ICPEN (International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network) presidency to raise the profile of global consumer protection.
