The Consumer Affairs Council NT acts as the principal advisory body to the Minister for Consumer Affairs on consumer matters and attempts to reflect the needs of Territory consumers. Meetings of the Council or its sub committees are often held in areas outside of Darwin. Territorians are encouraged to bring matters of concern to the attention of Council members so that these matters may be discussed at their meetings. The Council involves itself in issues that encompass a wide range of subjects at the local, national and international levels and in order to do so it liaises with the Consumers Federation of Australia (CFA), the Australian Consumers Association (ACA) and Consumers International (CI).
