Comcare Australia

Description

Comcare is responsible for workplace safety, rehabilitation and compensation in the Commonwealth jurisdiction. Comcare is a statutory authority reporting to the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations and administers two Acts of Parliament:1/ the Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Act 1991 (the OHS (CE) Act), and 2/ the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (the SRC Act). Comcare supports the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission in exercising its functions and powers. These relate broadly to the regulation of workplace safety, rehabilitation and compensation performance under the and the OHS(CE) Act and SRC Act. Comcare’s Mission is to work in partnership with our customers to reduce the human and financial costs of workplace injuries and disease in the jurisdiction.
