The Department of Treasury provides advice to the Commonwealth Government by assisting the Treasury Ministers in the administration of their responsibilities and the implementation of Government decisions. Responsibilities include Budget Policy, Foreign Investment Policy and Economic Policy. There is a Consumer Affairs Division within Treasury which is responsible for consumer affairs policy at the Commonwealth level.
