Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)

Description

The ACMA (previously Aust Broadcasting Authority & Aust Communications Authority) is responsible for technical regulation, consumer issues and licensing of telecommunications and radiocommunications in Australia. The ACMA also handles written complaints about prohibited Internet content. The ACMA can generally provide consumers with information but not directly resolve complaints. Complaints should be directed to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman. For all radiocommunications licensing, frequency assigning and customer enquiries please call 1300 850 115. For all broadcasting related enquiries please call 1800 226 667. Consumers with complaints regarding programs on TV or radio should initially contact the relevant stations to make their complaint.
