The Tribunal is the first level of external review of decisions made by Centrelink about social security, family assistance, education and training payments and paid parental leave. The SSAT is also the first level of external review of most decisions made by the Child Support Agency.
The SSAT no longer maintains a registry in the ACT. All applications are managed via the SSAT's registry in Sydney. Hearings are held in the ACT at the premises of the AAT.
