Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA)

Description

The Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) is a professional organisation established to ensure the orderly and ethical working of the mortgage industry in Australia. The MFAA website includes information on how to find an accredited mortgage consultant and professional ancillary services. MFAA has also been known as the Mortgage Industry Association of Australia (MIAA), the Mortgage Industry Association of Australasia and the Mortgage Bankers Association. The MFAA also provides access for consumers to a modern and effective dispute resolution system. MFAA requires its members to have internal dispute resolution (IDR) procedures in place to address and try to resolve customer complaints within a reasonable time. The MFAA has a set of Disciplinary Rules to deal with complaints of alleged misconduct against an MFAA member. The MFAA can only take action if a complaint or dispute is against an MFAA member. Complaints relating to compensaion should be directed to the Credit Ombudsman Service (see relevant directory listing for contact details)
