Race Discrimination Commissioner

Description

The Race Discrimination Commissioner's role is established under the Racial Discrimination Act 1975. Part of his/her role is to promote an understanding and acceptance of, and compliance with, the Act. The Commissioner also prepares guidelines for the avoidance of breach of the Act. Complaints about racial discrimination should be directed to the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission (refer to separate record).
