The Public Interest Advocacy Centre is an independent, non-profit legal and policy centre. PIAC makes strategic interventions in public interest matters to foster a fair, just and democratic society and to empower citizens, consumers and communities. Some of the activities of PIAC include advice services for the homeless, protection of human rights and the energy and water consumers' advocacy program.
