Access codes

Following passage of the Telecommunications Legislation Amendment (Competition and Consumer Safeguards) Bill 2010, Division 4 of Part XIC of the Trade Practices Act 1974 (now the Competition and Consumer Act 2010), concerning telecommunications access codes, was repealed. The repealed Division was replaced by an Access Determinations regime. As a result the ACCC no longer has the power to make an access code on telecommunications services.  Access codes for telecommunications facilities may still be made under the Telco Act (1997) and the links below provides further information.
