The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) plays the crucial role of providing many of the boundaries within which a market economy works. We all benefit from the tremendous incentive and focus provided by the profit motive, but it can only be a force for good while companies know they cannot fix prices, misuse their market power or mislead consumers.
