Description of Conduct

On 8 December 2011 Virgin Australia and Skywest Airlines applied for authorisation to make, and give effect to, their Corporate Alliance Framework Agreement, Frequent Flyer and Lounge Agreement and Joint Sales Agreement (together the Corporate Alliance) for the provision of commercial passenger airline services to corporate customers. The Corporate Alliance will be limited to offering corporate customers a suite of charter and domestic and international regular public transport air services.

On 25 January the ACCC granted interim authorisation. Interim authorisation will remain in place until the date that the ACCC's final determination comes into effect or until interim authorisation is revoked.

On 10 May 2012 the ACCC issued a determination granting authorisation in respect of the Corporate Alliance for five years until 1 June 2017. A copy of the determination is available by following the links below.
