The National Financial Services Federation is the peak national industry body of the micro-lending and small-loan lending industry. The financial services industry has undergone significant changes during the last few years with the most notable being (1) the need for licensing under ASIC, and (2) the introduction of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 with its ongoing amendments. Because of the now considerable compliance costs that these changes demand, the Federation plays a pivotal role in the dissemination of advisory and educational information to help members stay abreast of the current changes in the industry. Without access to such a national body as the NFSF, it is doubtful that new entrants to the industry would easily find all of the information now needed to be a fully licensed and legally compliant operation.
