While price cycles usually operate in regular patterns, the cheapest and most expensive days to buy petrol change from cycle to cycle.

Duration of petrol price cycles

The length of the price cycle, from cheapest day to cheapest day, varies from cycle to cycle. In 2013, in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide the length of the cycle increased from seven to fourteen days or more. In Perth, the cycle consistently remained around seven days.
