The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by The Pharmacy Guild of Australia – Victorian Branch (the Guild) on behalf its members to enable collective negotiations with electricity retailers in Victoria.
The Guild proposes to invite its members (other than those who operate from premises within an embedded electricity network) to provide their electricity usage data to the Guild, which will use this data to negotiate with electricity retailers on behalf of the group. Members will then be offered the opportunity to enter into individual contracts, on otherwise standard commercial terms, for the supply of electricity with the electricity retailer who offered the best/lowest rate. The proposed arrangements are voluntary.
The ACCC has also decided to allow the notification to remain in force for a period of 10 years, until 15 November 2028, unless the notification is withdrawn or revoked. Please refer to the ACCC’s Collective Bargaining public register for further information.
