The ACCC has granted minor variations to Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA)’s authorisation AA1000423, pursuant to which RWWA and BetEasy entered into a management services agreement relating to fixed odds wagering until 30 December 2028.

On April 7 2021, RWWA requested two minor variations to the authorisation. Firstly, RWWA sought to include Sportsbet as a party to the agreement, enabling Sportsbet to perform some or all of BetEasy’s obligations to provide fixed odds management services to RWWA. BetEasy’s operations are being integrated into Sportsbet following the global merger of their parent companies in 2020. As a result, Sportsbet intends to become a party to, and perform some or all of, BetEasy’s obligations under the agreement with RWWA. Secondly, RWWA sought to amend the agreement to allow BetEasy/Sportsbet to provide transitional support to RWWA to assist RWWA’s transition to providing its own fixed odds management services, prior to termination or expiry of the agreement, not just after expiry or termination as is currently provided in the agreement.
