On 31 May 2017, the ACCC released a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation to current and future members of Australian Writers’ Guild to collectively negotiate model agreements (also known as model terms of engagement), which can be used by current and future members of the Australian Writers’ Guild when contracting with producers of film, television and digital media.

The ACCC had previously authorised members of Australian Writers’ Guild to collectively negotiate agreements with members of Screen Producers Australia. Australian Writers’ Guild have now sought authorisation to collectively negotiate agreements with both members and non-members of Screen Producers Australia.

The ACCC proposes to grant authorisation for 10 years.

Further information about the application for authorisation and the draft determination are available on the authorisation public register.
