The ACCC in conjunction with Choice presented the 2013 Ruby Hutchison Memorial Lecture with Ms Carolyn Bond AO, co-Chief Executive Officer of the Consumer Action Law Centre on Thursday 14 March.

Theme

Consumer casework – a driver for broader strategic advocacy

Carolyn believes that the strategic integration of casework with other advocacy strategies can lead to better outcomes for consumers. Carolyn shared her experience as a consumer advocate over more than 30 years, using examples of specific cases and consumer issues. She aims to increase understanding of the important role played by casework services which adopt a strong advocacy approach, the limitations and risks they face, and provide inspiration to those involved in advocacy work.
