National Consumer Congress
The National Consumer Congress is an annual event hosted by the ACCC that brings together consumer groups, community organisations and government to discuss key issues impacting consumers, and develop strategies to improve consumer justice and welfare.
National Consumer Congress 2014
The theme for this years' event is Consumer rights in the digital age, providing a timely look at consumers in the digital economy given the increasing number of Australians shopping online. Topics include convergence and consumers, the commoditisation of consumer data, and empowering consumers to shop smart online.
Keynote addresses will be given by Rod Sims, ACCC Chair, the Hon Bruce Billson MP, Minister for Small Business, Alan Kirkland, Chief Executive Officer, CHOICE and Dr Rebecca Giblin, Researcher, Monash University and co-host of ABC ‘Drive’ Geek Club radio.
